John Burton’s 2010 Workshop will be
located on the beautiful Carmel Coast of California. Having taught workshops in
France, Canada and here in the United States, John is thrilled to offer this
new workshop in his hometown. The workshop will include a visit to the artists’
working studio in Carmel and Plein Air painting with hands-on instruction at
some of the most picturesque locations in the world. Participants will meet at the designated sites
(maps will be provided) and create several works each day. The first morning there will be a
complimentary breakfast at John’s studio.
This workshop is open to all levels of
painting and experience. We will
focus on value, color, composition, paint handling and indication of
subject. This course emphasizes
the importance of color study and the excitement of direct painting. Students are encouraged to develop
intuitive feeling for paintings and to build a sound painting approach. We will be focusing on a simplification
process, the step-by-step method to creating a successful plein air
painting. Tuition is $695.

REFUNDS: A full refund is
given up to 14 days prior to the date of the workshop. A $200.00 fee will
be held after that up to the date of the workshop. If I fill your spot all your
money will be refunded. Once the workshop has begun, you forfeit full tuition
